The Town of Dewitt includes the Village of East Syracuse and the hamlets of Jamesville and Collamer.
Part of the former Central New York Military Tract, the town is named after Major Moses DeWitt, a judge and soldier. Dewitt is full of charming older residential neighborhoods, contemporary homes and condominiums, plus upscale newer subdivisions. The Town of DeWitt offers housing in price ranges as diverse as the population.
There is outdoor fun to be had throughout the year in the Town of Dewitt. The village maintains over 13 parks and green spaces, including Avery Park, Butternut Creek Recreation Trail, Carrier Park, Cedar Bay Park, Delaney Green Space, Dunrovin Neighborhood Park, and Fiddler’s Green. With numerous local dining and shopping establishments, residents never have to travel far to enjoy the finer things in life.
